Good Evening All,
Do not forget to complete your Water Cycle Journey story. Rememeber the story is based on your data table; the way the water droplet (you) traveled throughout the water cycle(the stations). Use your imagination and make sure you use the vocabulary terms. I can't wait to read your stories!!!! See you all tomorrow! As we are going more in depth with our war on water and how water plays a significant role in Earth processes, we will be engaging in several activities. Make sure you complete your homework tonight! Remember you must draw, label, and describe the water cycle. Make sure you include pictures, labels of the pictures, and a description of what is taking place in the water cycle. I have included resources in Unit 4: water on earth.
See you all tomorrow! We started our severe weather notes today; many of you were familar with the different types of severe weather. We will complete them tomorrow and discuss our upcoming weather report! I have posted the severe weather powerpoint and a video in unit 3. No homework tonight.
In class, we demonstrated an air front by using cold and warm water; which represent the moving of our air masses. The movement of our air masses forms our cold fronts, warm fronts, occluded fronts, and stationary fronts. Homework is to complete the Air Pressure and Fronts Practice worksheet (except 3rd period); use the online textbook, your notes from class, and the powerpoints included in Unit 3 as a resource. 3rd period make sure you have the Air Fronts lab as your ticket in the door.
Good Evening All,
I have posted the information to access the online textbook. You all are able to complete the Air Mass and Fronts Notes. Today, we discussed the four type of air masses and the four type of fronts. I wonder how does air pressure, air masses, and fronts relate to weather?....we will share our thoughts tomorrow in class:-) 1st and 2nd period, I will be checking your notes tomorrow; make sure your notes are completed. In addition to providing access to the online text book, I have posted the powerpoint in Unit 3: Climate and Weather to help in understanding. See you all tomorrow!!!!! We are still discussing the movement of wind. In 1st, 2nd, and 3rd period, we have completed our wind movement notes. We went over land and sea breezes and you all received a cut and paste chart to distinguish the differences between land and sea breezes. Make sure your chart is glued in your science notebook. For 1st, 2nd, and 4th period: Make sure you complete your winds packet and answer questions 1-13. For 3rd period, make sure you complete your sea breeze and land breeze chart; I will be checking tomorrow. I have posted the following in unit 3: the wind movement powerpoint that goes along with the notes, different links for visuals, and videos. Hopefully these resources will help in understanding how air moves.
See you all tomorrow! Today, we began our wind movement notes; some classes got further than others. We received a KIM vocabulary chart; I want you all to become familar with the terms that will be used throughout the unit. Continue to work on your KIM chart.
